Simon McSweeney

 

Having spent my childhood years growing up in the city of Townsville, I have always felt a strong connection to North Queensland. The prospect of returning to Townsville in 2011 to work with the skillful team at Townsville Podiatry Centre has been a phenomenal opportunity.  

 

Since completing my undergraduate Podiatry degree in 2006 (Bachelor Health Science. Pod) at Queensland University of Technology Brisbane, my clinical experience has been largely private practice based and includes working abroad for 12 months in Ireland during 2010. Whilst studying at university, I was an employee at the Athlete's Foot shoe company and have subsequently gained knowledge and experience in athletic footwear fitting, prescription and design. I am actively involved in long to middle-distance athletic running and have developed a great interest of lower limb pathology through my personal sporting endeavors. I have a definitive passion to provide optimal primary health care of the foot and lower-limb, in allowing patients of all ages to achieve better mobility in their lives.
