Established in 1986, Townsville Podiatry Centre offers excellent care from exceptionally qualified staff as well as treatment with the latest technological equipment available.

Having recently moved to custom built facilities, Townsville Podiatry Centre is the largest podiatry practice in Australia. The practice offers large consulting rooms overlooking courtyards, state of the art assessment & treatment,
an onsite orthotic laboratory and a comfort footwear outlet all under one roof.

Services

Townsville Podiatry Centre specialises in an array of podiatric services including Sports injuries, video gait and F-Scan analysis, children’s foot and walking disorders, orthotic therapy, elderly foot care, diabetic assessment and treatment, as well as general foot care for corns, callous and other dermatological foot problems.

FScan Technology

The newest addition to our centre is the F-Scan system and we are one of the few private practices in Australia to have this technology. The F-Scan is a pressure assessment system designed to measure the pressure and force applied by the foot to the ground in various situations. The F-Scan can be used to assess a variety of patients including sports people, children, surgical patients and diabetics. It is invaluable in assessing the effects of footwear & orthotic devices on
the foot.

Specialty Footwear Plus

Specialty Footwear Plus is located within Townsville Podiatry Centre and deals exclusively with comfort footwear, including ‘made to measure’ footwear. The shoes available at this outlet are of the highest quality available including Rockport, Gadean, Ecco and Birkenstock. Not only are the shoes comfortable, orthotic friendly and stylish, they are recommended by our podiatrists on site. That means that every shoe that enters the store is assessed by some of the most qualified podiatrists in the country.

Northotics

Townsville Podiatry Centre is one of the few practices in Australia to have a full commercial Orthotic Laboratory on site. Our laboratory, Northotics specialises in the manufacture and production of high quality orthotic devices and innersoles by qualified and experienced staff. With the lab being located on site, our podiatrists exert excellent quality control and orthotics and insoles are able to be manufactured or repaired in a very short time frame.

We have a team

We have an exceptional team of highly qualified podiatrist within the practice, all of which have pursued a continued education in order to further their knowledge and to be kept up to date with the latest in podiatric treatment.

Our Principal podiatrist, Jayne Arlett is the only qualified Sports Podiatrist in North Queensland and was Queensland’s only Olympic Podiatrist. We have provided consultant podiatry services to our National sporting teams the Crocodiles, Cowboys & Fire since 1993. Several of our podiatrists are currently undergoing postgraduate Masters Qualifications.

Some of the special interests of our podiatrists are diabetic treatment and education, sports injuries, children’s foot and leg disorders and wound management.

The practice has deep roots within the local community and our podiatrists hold regular informational seminars as well as sponsor local sports teams and organisations.
