We provide all aspects of podiatry care and
we are well positioned to address every aspect
of our patient’s podiatric needs. The
facilities and technology available to our podiatrists
are second to none. We have a special focus
on sports, children and diabetic patient needs.
Podiatric
Assistants/Exercise Physiologist
We
have assistants who work alongside the podiatrists
ensuring we offer the best patient care. Most
of our assistants are degree qualified as sports
scientists/exercise physiologists.
Your
assistant may settle you into the consulting
room and obtain a brief outline of your reason
for visit, response to past treatment etc before
your podiatrist sees you. The podiatrist may
call upon the assistant for assistance with
orthotic modifications, exercises or stretching
instruction, padding and strapping and any other
task that can be completed by the assistant.
Customer
Service Operators
We pride ourselves on providing excellence in
patient care and this starts and ends with our
customer service operators. They will greet
you with a smiling face at reception and assist
you with any queries. They may even offer you
a cup of coffee!
Lab Team
We
are one of the few practices in Australia to
have a full service commercial orthotic laboratory
on site. Our trained technicians work to the
podiatrists instructions to handcraft each orthotic
to specific instructions. The podiatrists are
able to check on the orthotic at any stage of
its construction allowing for excellent quality
control.
Having
the lab onsite means adjustments can be done
on the spot in many instances. We also have
the ability to repair or ‘refurbish’
orthotics generally with a 24 hour turn around
instead of the usual week or two most practices.
Shoe
Dispensary Manager
We
are fortunate to have the "Specialty Footwear
Plus" dispensary on site at Townsville
Podiatry Centre. Prior to the establishment
of Specialty Footwear Plus many patients travelled
to Brisbane for suitable footwear.
All shoes stocked by Specialty Footwear Plus
are approved by podiatrists; we stock a wide
variety of shoes for orthotic wearers, a large
range of exercise walking shoes and are able
to provide custom made footwear also.
The
manager is able to consult with the podiatrist
to ensure we provide footwear to suit the individual
needs of each patient.
